Originally, Southmoor Park was developed in the 1960´s and 70´s as a suburban area of Denver. However, it is actually located in the Southern most portion of the Denver city limits, at the intersection of I-25 and Hampden, US-285.
Many of the homes here have been remodeled and updated, and they are priced from $300,000 to 700,000. The yards are large and the nearby elementary school, middle and South High School have high ratings in the Denver public school system.
One of Denver’s Top Neighborhoods
Recently, Southmoor Park was name one of Denver’s top neighborhoods for livability. 5280 Magazine rated it Number 1 for real estate and Number 4 for top schools.
The light rail service, which has a station at Southmoor Park, has enhanced the attractiveness of this area. This light rail station connects Southmoor Park to both downtown Denver and the Park Meadows shopping center, as well as Skyridge hospital and medical center in Lone Tree to the south. Local residents can shop at the nearby Tamarac shopping center and visit a number of local restaurants and coffee shops in the area.

“Leave It To Beaver” Neighborhood
Many residents were drawn here because of the larger lots which offer great backyard suitable for family entertaining nine months of the year. Some have called this “Denver’s Leave It To Beaver” neighborhood. When you drive the many curved streets, you can almost imaging Ward and June in the front yards.
The commute to downtown Denver currently is about 20 minutes and the commute to the Denver Tech Center is less than 10 minutes. The Tech Center is “the other downtown” with as much office space as downtown Denver. Also, there are plenty of eateries and shopping here. This unique, central location draws many residents to this area.
